Tool and Plant Hire Co-ordinator, EvaBuild, Newtown

About the role

EvaBuild’s Tool and Plant Hire Coordinator oversees the hire of tools and plant for EvaBuild Ltd and EvaBuild Plant. They are responsible for overseeing equipment availability, coordinating logistics, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring that machinery and tools are in excellent working condition. This role demands strong organisational and communication skills to meet site needs whilst maximizing profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the scheduling, allocation, and delivery of plant machinery to meet site requirements. Coordinate the transportation of machinery between locations, thus ensuring timely delivery and availability of plant to meet project timelines.

  • Organise the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure functionality and safety of Plant & Tool hires.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and site colleagues.

  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and location.

  • Organise live and off-hire equipment as needed, ensuring nothing is on-hire longer than is necessary.

  • To ensure best cost on all plant hire and tool purchases.

  • Long term hire is questioned and losses reported promptly.

  • Organise and oversee LOLER/Lifting equipment, register, distribution (who, where what), testing (every 6-months).

  • Create and maintain an accurate asset register for all tools and equipment in company vehicles.

  • Be responsible for all assets within EvaBuild Plant, ensuring that they are fully utilised and promoted to ensure all site staff are aware what is available. This should be consulted before external hire is considered.

  • Oversee the Hilti Gateway (or other relevant supplier) systems. Assigning new tools and ensuring accurate records are maintained.

Reporting

Prepare monthly reports for the tool and plant hire department, this should include but not be restricted to the following:

  • Long Term hire costs of plant

  • Long Term hire costs of tools

  • Long Term hire losses of plant

  • Long Term hire losses of tools

  • Value of stock at HQ

  • Value of stock onsite

  • Value of returned stock from site

  • Spend by supplier

  • Track revenues, expenses, and profitability of equipment hire.

  • Negotiate rental rates and terms with clients to maximize revenue.

  • To liaise with supplier to establish upfront costs ahead of project commencement

  • To be always looking at new equipment and New Supplier Identification

  • Assist LOLER/Chains

  • Arrange Servicing of Plant

  • Supervision of GI & WAC Testing

Location & commitments

  • Permanent, full-time role based in our Newtown office

  • Monday – Friday 07.30-17.00 with half an hour lunch

  • Travel as required.
