TRAINEE QUANITY SURVEYOR, Paveaways, SHROPSHIRE & BORDERS
The Trainee Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team in the management of construction project costs from inception through to completion. Working under the guidance of experienced Quantity Surveyors, the Trainee Quantity Surveyor will develop the skills and knowledge required to assist with cost control, procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, and financial reporting.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience whilst developing a professional career in Quantity Surveying.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
Support the review and analysis of project costs and expenditure
Assist with obtaining and evaluating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
Help prepare subcontract orders and maintain subcontractor records
Support the measurement and valuation of completed works
Assist with the preparation and submission of client valuations and applications for payment
Monitor project costs and assist in maintaining accurate financial records
Support the management of variations and change control procedures
Assist with the preparation of cost reports and commercial updates for project teams and company directors
Attend site visits and meetings to gain an understanding of project progress and commercial requirements
Help ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures, and industry regulations
Work collaboratively with Site Managers, Contracts Managers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Clients
Maintain accurate project documentation and filing systems
Undertake training and development activities to progress towards becoming a qualified Quantity Surveyor
