Hours: 37.5 per week (plus day release for college attendance)

We are expanding our team at the Llay site, where a wide range of plant and equipment supports our production and operations.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to begin their engineering career in a hands-on environment. As an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer, you will support the day-to-day maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment across our facility, working closely with our experienced Maintenance Engineer.

The role includes attending day release at college to work towards recognised qualifications in both mechanical and electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in routine maintenance tasks on machinery, tools, and plant equipment.
• Support breakdown repairs to minimise downtime and disruption.
• Carry out basic fault finding and preventative maintenance.
• Keep records of maintenance work and support with documentation.
• Help ensure the site remains safe, operational, and compliant.
• Learn to use tools and testing equipment under supervision.
• Follow health & safety procedures and company policies.
• Attend and complete required college modules and coursework.

What We're Looking For
• A keen interest in engineering and hands-on work.
• Willingness to learn both mechanical and electrical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and a responsible attitude.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science (Grade 4/C or above preferred).
• Commitment to attending day-release training as part of an apprenticeship framework.
