Mid Wales Manufacturing Group Hosts Successful Charity Golf Afternoon in Newtown, Powys
The Mid Wales Manufacturing Group (MWMG) held their Charity Golf Afternoon on Friday, 13th June at St. Giles Golf Course in Newtown, raising £325. The event, a 9-hole Texas Scramble, was organized in support of Newtown Food Surplus, the recipient of the prestigious Social Enterprise/Charity Award at the 2024 Powys Business Awards.
Eight teams participated in the event, with Makefast emerging victorious with a nett score of 23. CDL Group secured second place with a score of 25, while St. Giles Golf Club claimed third place with a score of 26 after a count back. The Longest Drive competition was won by Eddie from CDL, and Myles Grant from Tanners Wines triumphed in the Nearest the Pin competition.
Ceri Stephens, representing MWMG, expressed gratitude, saying, “This was a fun afternoon and we thank all those that were able to attend and support the charity. Our thanks also go to St. Giles Golf Club, Makefast, and Tanners Wines for the prizes and the complementary port prior to teeing off.”
