The ABER Instruments Manufacturing team is looking to grow with the addition of a Manufacturing Technician. Main Purpose
The manufacture and testing of a range of products to a high quality standard in line with company procedures and documentation. You will be a member of the Manufacturing Department and report to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
We are seeking an individual with a ‘can do’ attitude, reliable and able, with a willingness to learn. Transferable skills for practical experiences will be considered. You will be encouraged to grow and develop your skills through a structured training plan. Full training will be provided to ensure you have all the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the role.
Duties to Include
● Assembly and testing of our instrumentation and ancillary equipment; to include calibrations, pre-testing, temperature cycling, final testing, EMC and PAT testing
● Work in a Manufacturing cleanroom environment
● Performing soldering operations to aid assembly
● Use of laser engravers, welders, lathes, and other workshop machinery as required
● Completing build documentation for batch recording of parts and components, and the selection of individual parts to maintain quality and traceability
● Ability to collaborate with others and work effectively as part of a diverse team
● Seek potential improvement opportunities within your area of the business
● The ability to encompass the ethos and values of employee-ownership and translate this into working practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Essential
● Attention to detail, good hand to eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
● Computer literacy and proficiency in a range of Windows based PC applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Access)
● Willingness to train and develop
Desirable
● An understanding of electronic principles, fault finding of PCBs and reading of schematic diagrams.
● Familiarity with test equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes
● Knowledge of and the ability to use workshop equipment to high standards (or the ability to train in their use).
● Surface mount soldering experience
● Working within a cleanroom environment
● Experience within the industry
● Understanding of employee owned organisations
