WAF Leadership and Workforce Development Legacy Programme

Following the closure of the Welsh Automotive Forum (WAF), the former WAF Board has used its remaining funds to create a legacy programme that continues to support manufacturing and engineering SMEs across Wales.

Delivered by Enginuity, the WAF Leadership and Workforce Development Legacy Programme provides fully funded support to help businesses strengthen their leadership capability, workforce planning, and people development.

The first programme, Strategise to Thrive, is expected to start in late October and will be delivered online over lunchtime sessions.

Each organisation can nominate up to three people to take part, making it a valuable opportunity for leadership and management teams to work together. Across seven interactive online sessions, participants will explore:

The key roles their business needs for future success
Current skills and training gaps
How to develop, engage and retain their people
Workforce risks that could impact future growth and plans

Research suggests that SMEs can reduce costs by 6-10% through better workforce planning, making this a practical opportunity for businesses to build a stronger, more resilient workforce.

There are 15 company places available, with former WAF member businesses being given priority access.
