Vocational Celebration Day

Mid Wales Manufacturing Group is proud to support the Vocational Celebration Day 2026.

‍Vocational Celebration Day is a new national day created by Enginuity and EAL to spotlight the value of vocational learning.

‍Vocational learning has long been undervalued — seen as less important or less challenging than academic routes. Vocational Celebration Day is set to change that.

Right now, the UK needs more people with hands-on, technical, work-ready skills, and vocational learners are rising to the challenge. Whether it’s in engineering, manufacturing, construction or care, these learners are building the future.

‍It’s time we recognised their contribution — and celebrated the organisations helping them succeed.

‍We’re laying the foundations for the first official Vocational Celebration Day on 6 August 2026 — a national moment to recognise and uplift vocational learners, colleges, training providers, and employers across the UK.

‍Between now and summer 2026, we’ll be joining the campaign — amplifying stories, sharing resources, and celebrating the learners who power our industries, and the country at large.

Speaking at the launch, Ann Watson, CEO of Enginuity said: “This is our gift to the entire skills and vocational community.

“Congratulations to all those qualifying this year—this is a major achievement for those pursuing vocational careers.

‍“Take a bow, enjoy your moment in the spotlight and celebrate in the knowledge that you are well on the way to securing a rewarding career, that will be of benefit to you, your family and the country as a whole.”

‍Alison Parkes, Managing Director of EAL, said: “EAL is delighted to be onboard with such a worthwhile, and sorely needed initiative. As a leading awarding organisation, we work tirelessly to support learners, business and all forms of educators, to ensure that the skills pipeline is brimming with people that are capable to excel in the workplace.

‍“Those following vocational pathways to work are now going to get the recognition that they deserve.”

‍Vocational Celebration Day reflects the UK Government’s commitment to building a future-proof, skills-based economy. By working closely with employers, educational institutions, and sector leaders, the government is expanding access to high-quality apprenticeships, technical courses, and lifelong learning programmes.

‍Vocational Celebration Day sits at the heart of this ambition, demonstrating the UK’s determination to value every talent and create opportunities for all.
