Cyber Briefing & Cyber Incident Exercise Workshop - Newtown

Join us for this session being held in Newtown with Cyber Innovation Hub covering:

  • Current Cyber Threat Landscape

  • Recent Impacts of Cyber Attacks

  • Why Manufacturing is most hacked sector

  • Cyber Resilience Act

  • Cyber Incident Exercise

The Cyber Innovation Hub will run a one-hour incident response workshop in which participants will face a simulated ransomware attack. Participants will explore the challenges organisations face when dealing with such incidents including leadership involvement, a technical team’s responsibilities, interdepartmental dependencies, and handling of legal obligations and communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

They will experience how to navigate through a critical situation where a ransom demand is being made, and customer data is at risk.

The aim of this workshop is to encourage collaborative discussions that enhances participants’ knowledge of incident handling, particularly in relation to ransomware; a cyber-attack that is being reported more frequently than ever and as we’ve witnessed, can have a devastating impact on both businesses and individuals.

This interactive exercise is designed to simulate a real-world scenario, where just as you think the situation is under control, unexpected challenges can arise!

The UK Government has stated that “Hostile cyber activity in the UK is growing more intense, frequent and sophisticated. This is causing significant financial and social harm to UK businesses and citizens. There is a direct and active threat to our economic and national security which requires an urgent collective response. The government is taking significant action to counter the cyber threat and has developed tools to help businesses to defend themselves, but we cannot do this alone. We ask you and the CEOs and chairs of other leading UK companies to take the necessary steps to protect your business and our wider economy from cyber attacks. Cyber resilience is a critical enabler of economic growth, so getting this right will promote growth and foster a stable environment for investment and innovation.”
