Welder/Fabricator, RM GROUP, NEWTOWN

Summary

RMGroup specialise in the supply of process and packaging machinery to various industries around the UK. The company has grown rapidly within the last few years and we are continually looking for aspiring individuals to join our dynamic team.

For this role we are looking for an enthusiastic and conscientious person to for fill the role of welder/fabricator within our manufacturing department. Predominantly fabricating machinery from steel sections and laser cut & folded parts in mild steel (MIG) with opportunity for aluminium and stainless work (TIG).

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

•  Follow and interpret technical drawings to allow accurate fabrication of products in accordance

with requirements.

•  Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.

•  Set up components for Fabrication according to specifications and/or relevant procedures,

drawings etc.

•  Align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.

•  Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).

•  Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.

•  Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

•  Inspect and ensure all work is completed to a high standard and is in line with company procedures.

•  Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).

•  Take responsibility for mandatory Personal Protection Equipment, to be always worn.

•  Report and assist in solving any daily problems.

•  Discuss problems/issues with your supervisor.

•  Ensure general housekeeping is carried out to maintain a clean, tidy, and organised workplace.

•  Comply will all current and future company HR, H&S, Quality and Environmental systems, policies, and procedures.


Desirables:

·       Previous experience within a Fabrication position.

·       Have a formal welding qualification, such as City & Guilds/BTEC Level 3.

·       Well organised with good communication skills with the ability to work within the production team and to promote a positive working environment.

·       Ability to complete work within set time scales provided.

·       Previous knowledge of manufacturing process, including welding, laser cutting, press brake folding. machining and spraying.

Hours: 07:30 – 16:30, 45 Hours, Monday-Friday

Salary: £15.00 per hour (gross)

Holidays: 24 Days + Bank Holidays
