Workshop/Yard Assistant

This is a varied and challenging role for workshop assistant/yard person, so a positive, can-do attitude is essential. You will be expected to carry out practical tasks from keeping the workshops and yard tidy, loading, and unloading lorries and assisting engineers in other areas of the business when required.

Every day will be different, you will be working with a small team who are vital to the day-to-day running of our busy yard and workshops.

Role & Responsibilities:

·        General housekeeping - always keeping the Workshop and Yard clean and hazard free.

·        Prepare goods and equipment for dispatch.

·        Maintaining the landscaping, including hedging, strimming, gardening, and weeding.

·        Checking deliveries and putting away

·        Load and Unload lorries using Forklifts.

·        Ensure all forklift checks are completed.

·        Assist with the building of equipment when required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

·        Good communication skills with a Proactive approach.

·        Good time keeping and planning skills.

·        Ability to report clear concise information on worksheets.

·        Forklift Licence, although training can be given to right candidate.

·        Some experience in a maintenance or other practical role would be beneficial.

·        Full, UK driving licence.

Salary to be discussed depending on experience.

The role is working Monday – Friday normal hours between 07:30 – 16:30
