The qualification is suitable for a learner who has responsibility in the workplace to undertake fire safety requirements and will provide learners with the knowledge to carry out designated duties as a Fire Warden/ Marshall. The qualification will also increase fire safety awareness for all employees. The qualification covers fire hazards, risk assessment, control of fire in the workplace and duties of both employers and employees.

Mid Wales Business Networking

To improve cross sector business networking, groups across Mid Wales namely Business Wales, Mid Wales Chamber, and Mid Wales Manufacturing Group have pulled together the idea of creating the new Mid Wales Business Networking. This aims to be a platform for the businesses of Mid Wales to come together, share information, opportunities, learning and challenges, a forum where the business community, can support each other.

Our first two events have been fully subscribed with over 60 attendees so don't hesitate to reserve your place for our third event.

We will have a range of interesting speakers at these events from the local business community, sharing information about their businesses, experiences, learning and top tips. We will also have a selection of experts providing informative updates on a range of current and relevant topics.

The event is being held in The Music Room, Gregynog Hall, Tregynon, Nr Newtown, SY16 3 PW Tuesday 19th June 2018 from 16:00-18:00.

Changes in Marketing & Finance

Our theme for this meeting is "Changes in Marketing & Finance" we will be joined by Whittingham Riddell who will brief us on Tax Digitisation and Online Solutions, Rose Morris will brief us on the trial taking place with Banking institutions regarding cheque scanning and Stuart Spooner from Motif Creative will share a number of practical marketing insights important to any business or organisation.

The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee is responsible for making decisions about Bank Rate. We are delighted that Dr Gertjan Vlieghe from the Monetary Policy Committee is visiting Newtown following the latest Inflation Report.  We will have an update on the Bank’s outlook for growth; including domestic consumption, net trade and investment and prospects for inflation over the medium term, specifically looking at how this affects businesses within Mid Wales.  The event will also provide an opportunity to meet local businesses and network over lunch.
