Data Management and Data Transmission to Knowledge

Visualise a World Beyond the Spreadsheet.
Are you drowning in data but still lacking information? VIBE is a project from Swansea University - helping you to transform operational data into powerful business information.
Come along to this free workshop where Dr Simon Walton of Swansea University will explain how the VIBE project can benefit your business.

The VIBE mission is to disseminate & share information to help improve knowledge, follow best practice in data-management, & increase competitiveness through adopting the latest data-visualisation techniques.
Over the last few years a research team of PhD software developers at Swansea University have been working on challenging commercial software projects, across the manufacturing sector. Their results found a common reliance on out-of-date, multiple version & often incorrect data. Information was mostly buried deep in a plethora of spreadsheets, with conflicting versions held by competing business functions. The result was confusion & contradiction between senior management & the shop floor, resulting in significant hidden waste & inefficiency across the business.
The business impact of the work undertaken by the research team has been startling; leading to immediate reductions in wasted time & duplication of effort, feeding through to improved management decision making & significant cost-reduction. In some cases hundreds of thousands of pounds were saved through the introduction of relatively simple software technologies which they now wish to share with you.
VIBE is run by the University & is sponsored by the Welsh Assembly Government to enable companies to freely access specialised knowledge in data management & the translation of data to knowledge.
Come along to the workshop to find out how the programme can support your business & start saving.
