The Certificate is designed for employees working in the Hotel, Catering, Food and Retail Industries who require a basic understanding of Food Hygiene.

Objectives: To give food handlers essential knowledge and understanding of good food hygiene practice. On completion of the course candidates will be able to:
* state the causes and measures necessary to prevent poisoning
* comply with the required standards of personal hygiene
* use refrigerators and freezers correctly
* apply the principles of stock rotation
* dispose of waste food correctly
* identify the common pests found in food premises and state how they can be controlled
* apply effective cleaning techniques
This course covers the requirements of the Food Safety Act
Certification: Upon successful completion of a multi-choice question paper the C.I.E.H. Certificate will be awarded.
