Bank of England to Address Mid Wales Business
An official from the Bank of England in Wales will be speaking to delegates from the Mid Wales business community in Newtown in September.
The presentation by Neil Ashbridge will be given in conjunction with a free workshop on directors' roles and responsibilities, which is being jointly organised by MWMG and accountants Whittingham Riddell at St Giles Business Park, Newtown on September 14.
Mr Ashbridge, who will speak about the Bank of England's role in Wales and the outlook for the economy, and is keen to hear from delegates about the issues facing them and their opinions on future trading prospects.

MWMG is also organising a vehicle leasing and management seminar in October with Lombard followed by the organisation's annual meeting on October 21, which will include a tour of local manufacturing company Makefast Ltd, based in Newtown.
Makefast Ltd, a Powys Business Awards finalist, makes a comprehensive range of safety and marine components for a worldwide market.
A one day supervisor training course will also be held in Newtown in October. The course will focus on how effective supervision is key to business performance, how to get it to work for a business and the key principles of supervising and communicating.
“Our workshops and courses are suitable for people at all levels of enterprise,” said Ceri Stephens, MWMG's manager. “They include refreshments and networking time to enable members to share experiences and discuss their issues with the presenters and other delegates.”
The workshops are supported by the Welsh Assembly.
Based in Newtown, MWMG represents 170 businesses of all sizes and types across Powys, Ceredigion, Meirionnydd and the Shropshire border. Due to the economic climate, MWMG is offering free membership to manufacturing companies and allied businesses until March next year.
