A/C Systems and Refrigerant Handling Certification
As of July 4th 2010 to comply with the law, garages must have on site a trained technician who is competent in the safe handling of refrigerants.
This course provides the fundamentals of air conditioning systems, servicing and fault diagnosis procedures and techniques including the safe handling of refrigerant gases. The course aims to facilitate a theoretical and practical understanding of light vehicle air conditioning systems to promote:
· Diagnosis
· Safe servicing and refrigerant handling
· Safe systems repair

Time: 9.00am – 4.00pm

Course Content:
· New legislation and how it affect you and your business
· Features and benefits of air conditioning
· Fundamentals of air conditioning system operation
· Identification, function and layout of components
· Performance testing
· Recycling of equipment operation
· Lubricants and oil refilling
· Leak detection (including Oxygen-Free Nitrogen testing)
· Refrigerant identification
· Activity records and worksheets (refrigerant handling)
· Safe handling of refrigerants
Certification: IMI certificates will be issued to those who meet the required standard during assessment
