The MWMG conference is now the premier event of its kind in Wales and last year achieved unprecedented approval ratings. It is an event you cannot afford to miss.

“Good Health is Good Business" is an essential ingredient of the Productivity, Predictability and Profitability mix - so say the top companies. Most maximise the value of staff by encouraging and rewarding good health and safety behaviour. In addition they have in place sickness absence management procedures to reduce both the time staff are off ill and the costs of illness thus improving productivity at a stroke. Government is pushing the message that "work is good for you" and that it should be part of the rehabilitation process and recognises that in this era of changing demographics all workers are increasingly valuable.

With this in mind, the MWMG made the theme of this year's conference 'Healthy Manufacturing – Make it for life'. The event, which is jointly sponsored by the Manufacturing Advisory Service for Wales and the Health & Safety Executive, has the specific aim of facilitating exchange of ideas and experiences in a local context. Our expert speakers have a wealth of experience within business and industry and you'll hear today of good practices and how companies have made it happen.

As in previous years the programme will allow plenty of time to view the adjoining exhibition. Central features this year will be the MWMG/MAS stand where detailed information on the help available to local manufacturers can be obtained and the HSE stand where you can learn more about the 'Health Challenge Wales' and 'Corporate Health Standard' programmes. As always, other exhibitors will include companies representing a wide range of suppliers from component manufacturers through a variety of IT systems, legal, accounting and employment services, waste management to distribution contractors all of which have been selected on the basis of their suitability for SMEs.
